Akari's career in health care began as a Registered Nurse in Japan where she worked in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), Hemodialysis Unit, and taught in a medical company. She also obtained her Clinical Engineering license.
In Canada, she shifted her focus to more community-based care and became a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac). Soon after becoming an RMT, Akari quickly gravitated her interests and focused more on the breast and pelvic health. She shifted her clinical focus, promoting wellness during a truly special time in a woman's life - the time from preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum/lactation. Akari's goal is that her patients are not only pain and symptom free, but also feel in optimal health.
She has been attending many courses and workshops in these fields from all over the world including the US, Austria, and, Japan, and her mentors include a naturopath, a chiropractor, a midwife, a physiotherapist, lactation consultants as well as massage therapists. Akari's work is a true blend of all the esteemed mentors' work to best address the needs of each unique patient in her care.
Akari welcomes all patients at her practice, however, she does extremely well with those who are open to experiencing different treatment approaches and are willing to pursue their better health with massage therapy and/or acupuncture. Akari's practice is gender inclusive.
